Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How does COVID-19 spread?
COVID-19 spreads mainly through respiratory droplets when an infected person coughs, sneezes, talks, or breathes. It can also spread by touching surfaces and then touching the face.
When should I get tested?
Get tested if you have symptoms, have been in close contact with a confirmed case, or if you are travelling. RTPCR, Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) are available at government hospitals and labs.
What is the isolation period?
Isolate for at least 5–10 days from onset of symptoms or from the date of positive test. Continue to mask for an additional 5 days after leaving isolation.
Can I get COVID-19 after vaccination?
Yes — breakthrough infections are possible. However, vaccines significantly reduce the risk of severe illness, hospitalization, and death. Getting vaccinated is still strongly recommended.
What is Long COVID?
Long COVID refers to symptoms that persist for weeks or months after the initial infection. These include fatigue, brain fog, shortness of breath, and joint pain. It can affect anyone regardless of disease severity.
Are children at risk?
Children generally have milder symptoms. However, MIS-C (Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome) is a rare but serious condition linked to COVID in children. Vaccination is recommended for children above 12 in India.
